SPRING/SUMMER MAKE-UP TRENDS 2011 /12
FRESH & JUICY!
For the Spring/Summer 2011/12 season LA BIOSTHETIQUE has launched it’s newest make-up trend ‘FRESH & JUICY'. Life is beautiful! Fresh and full of colour and exuding tingling Spring Freshness. Wonderfully bright in fiery orange, poetic pink, soft violet and delicate green, this new trend shows us all that life is beautiful and Spring brings with it the most beautiful time of the year!
Fashion colours are featured in the new trend. From shades of orange such as mandarin and mango to the bright red of tomatoes, the violet of aubergines and amethysts to electric cobalt blues, as if Alice in Wonderland had immersed the world in bright fairytale colours. Explosive, vibrant and energetic. Sometimes the colours are pure; sometimes they are tone on tone. Sometimes they are seen as a stunning patchwork in exotic blossoms or floral pictures the likes of which you might find in pure art. This season is as if each and every designer has well and truly had their fill of the black and white film of winter.
FACE
The warmer months call for a more sheer, light weight look.
You want to create a sheer foundation
look with very light coverage, for example a tinted moisturizer
and translucent powder or apply a light concealer first for a
little bit more coverage. The nude, natural look also stays for
another season. Use a foundation and powder that will make your
skin nice and fresh and use a tiny bit of pink or coral blush
to add a pop of freshness. Team with eyeshadows in beige, caramel
or soft brown and nude lips.
EYES
Bright eyes are big this season! Eyeshadows in vibrant fucshia,
violet, electric blue, green and yellow give a vibrant look. Experiment
with differnt colour combinations.
Even though the smoky eye is still popular, the opposite smoky eye will give freshness to this seductive look. The opposite smoky eye is created by using shiny, bright eyeshadows in shades of silver, gold, bronze or light grey. These colours are used to highlight the darker base colour which will be a darker shade of the chosen colour. Complete with a black eye pencil and mascara.
Pastel colours are popular this season. Try eyeshadows in baby pink, baby blue, light purple, bright yellow or lime green. Use the colours to highlight or wear a couple of colours together for a fun look. The brave can experiment with red eyeshadow, either worn light by itself or teamed with another colour like yellow or green.
Imperfect make-up is popular, giving a rock type look. The look is like you just woke up and have worn dark smoky eyes the previous day – creating smudged dark eyes and nude lips.
Think BIG lashes – false eyelashes will make your eyes big and dramatic. If you already have naturally long and thick lashes, emphasise them with mascara.
LIPS
Matte colours are on trend for this season. Think matte lipsticks
that are hydrating and nourishing in bright, fun colours.
Red lips stay in full force, giving any look glamour and chic.
Shades range from bright red, coral red, orange red to wine
red – whatever suits your complexion. Purple lips are also
a feature, in deep violet and deep purple. If you choose to
rock this look, keep eyes nude and minimalist.
